Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2005 Crianza displays more obvious oak. Toasty, minerals, Asian spices, violets, and black raspberry aromas inform the nose of a round, mouth-filling, savory wine displaying both intensity and finesse. It will benefit from another 1-2 years of bottle age and will provide enjoyment through 2020. The Tilenus wines are produced by Bodegas Estefania.(Jay Miller) 90pts

Estate Profile
The wines of Tilenus have managed to capture the unique magic of Mencia on so many levels. From aromatics to texture and beyond.
Bodegas Estefania was founded by the Frias family with a commitment to nurturing vineyards mainly of Mencia, and producing wines of exceptional quality and character. Bodegas Estefania owns approximately 40 Ha of old vines, some almost 100 years old, mainly on mineral and arcillous soils in the valleys and alluvial and sediments in the area of Valtuille de Arriba and Pieros.
Situated on terraced slopes, the vines have to be harvested manually because of geographic conditions. Each vine has a limited yield which is often less than 1.2 kg. All conditions are carefully controlled until the time has come for harvesting.
The harvest is collected in small boxes of 10 to 15 Kg. There are approximately 1000 barrels in our barrel room, 80% of them are of French oak and were made by 20 of the most prestigious French artisans, manufacturers of delicate and pale coloured woods, which give our wines their traditional distinguished flavour.
