Tasting Notes
This is the premier release from the Estate. The “Corte D’Oro” is a blend of Malbec, Cabernet, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. An extraordinary wine. Aromas of wonderful dimension, of fine fruits, spices and floral notes. Aged 12 month in French oak barrels, 2010 Puro Corte D’Oro is of deep opaque red color. Intense, yet elegant wine with rich red berry fruit characters. The spicy notes show through on the palate. Suave texture and lush right through the long finish. Exceptional.

Wine Advocate #198
The 2010 Corte d’Oro is made up of 40% Malbec, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 15% Petit Verdot, with an expressive nose that jumps from the glass. Sweet, succulent, and already complex, this deep, concentrated, lengthy effort is likely to evolve for another 2-3 years and drink well through 2025.
The owner of the Ojo de Vino Estate responsible for the Puro wines is Dieter Meier, famous in the field of techno music. The Puro wines are Certified Organic. (Jay Miller)

Estate Profile
The Visionary and Owner behind the incredible Ojo de Vino Estate in the Agrelo Alto sub-region of Mendoza, is Dieter Meier, who is also well known for the highly successful Swiss electronic music group Yello - the “godfathers of techno.” His uncompromising passion for wine is the driving force behind the Puro 100% Certified Organic Wines. The vineyard is one of the highest elevation vineyards in the district, providing fruit with immensely intense lush, intense and well defined character. Dieter has along with his young winemaker Alain Bramaz adopted a very uncompromising “low yield” approach in the vineyard, making the Ojo de Vino Estate arguably the lowest yielding in Argentina.
Agrelo Alto is considered Mendoza’s best wine-producing region. Spectacular topography with foothills and high plains. At 1000 meters above sea level, the dry, hot climate, the extreme temperature differences between night and day, and the melting water from the Andes create ideal conditions for organically cultivated wine of outstanding quality.
The terroir of the Ojo de Vino Estate is exceptional. The soil is stony and dry, and contains several minerals that have been washed down in melt-water from the Andes over millions of years.
The charismatic Dieter Meier seems to have boundless energy. Beyond his Puro project, he is also the only producer of 100% Certified Organic Beef in Argentina, is the Owner of two restaurants in Zurich which feature his wines and beef, and is soon to open another in Buenos Aires. Beyond that he continues his endeavours in music, art and film.
