2005 THE OLD FAITHFUL SINGLE VINEYARD MOURVEDRE
31st October 2007 ROBERT PARKER'S THE WINE ADVOCATE (#173)The 2005 Mourvedre “Almond Grove†is purple-colored with a fragrant nose of damp earth, forest floor, truffle, and blueberry. This leads to a full-bodied wine with a supple texture, spicy blue fruits, moderate tannin, and good depth. The wine becomes narrow in the finish and has some tannin to resolve. Give it 6-8 years in the cellar to round out. The Old Faithful is a brand 50% owned by importer John Larchet, designed to express the quality of McLaren Vale fruit. Each cuvee is made in 300 case lots. 2005 is a great vintage in McLaren Vale and these wines support that conclusion. Author: Jay Miller

30th September 2007 STEPHEN TANZER'S INTERNATIONAL WINE CELLARRuby-red. Licorice-accented cherry and plum aromas are complicated by anise and dark chocolate. Firm and medium-bodied, with chewy dark fruit flavors joined by an espresso quality that carries through the finish. This needs some time. Author: Joshua Raynold
