AUSTRALIAN WINE COMPANION 2013

30th October 2012 JAMES HALLIDAY

Often a wine that challenges the idea that the Barossa is not really suited to cabernet, and does so with a vengeance this vintage. Layer-upon-layer of cassis, blackcurrant, quality oak and fine tannins are all in utterly harmonious balance. The wine has a very long life ahead.

2nd October 2012 HUON HOOKE, SYDNEY MORNING HERALD

Bargain of the week.
This is a solid, regional Rutherglen red with dark colour, dried-herb/bay leaf aromas and plenty of tannin. There are smoke and dry spice aromas, too, while the taste is robust and finishes very dry. A good solid food wine, and the price makes it a gift. Drink now to six years. 13.5% alcohol. 88/100
