The Ciacci Family has a long history in Tuscany . Their family run estate was one of the few that banded together with twenty four other wine growers to work together to create the Brunello di Montalcino Consortzio . Nearly thirty five years later the family chose to expand to Maremma where they purchased twenty hectare that they dedicated to olive orchards, and vineyards that would produce their Morellino di Scansano . This Sangiovese blend is aromatic with bright red cranberry and cherry, with savory tomato leaf and a hint of espresso. The palate is juicy with grippy tannins but still quite quaffable . Enjoy with grilled Italian sausages or fire roasted chicken and firm nutty cheeses like parmesan or pecorino .
