Moscato (Muscat) used to stop fermenting when the winter came through leaving a little sugar behind. When bottles were opened in the spring, a little spritz was present as some of the wine re-fermented. Now the style is celebrated and protected as a DOCG, the highest quality level in Italy. A wonderful nose of peach, orange blossom, and almond. Slightly sweet and spritzy with flavors of candied lemon and honeydew melon. Always refreshing.
