Bethel Heights Estate Pinot Noir 375ml - 20730
First established in 1977 by the Casteels , Bethel Heights was one of the first wineries of the then fledgling Oregon wine scene. Their efforts helped put the Willamette Valley and Oregon itself on the map, particularly for Pinot Noir . Now, with the second generation at the helm, Bethel Heights is continuing to build on coaxing a ‘ sense of place ’ as expressed through their vineyards. The estate Pinot Noir contains wine from nearly every vineyard at Bethel Heights and is always a reflection of the vintage. The 2015 vintage was warm right up until September, providing a cool end to the growing season and allowing the vines to develop complexity and focus the flavor created by the warmth of the year. Ripe red and black cherry on the nose is complemented by spice and oak. The palate is firm and structured with fresh acidity and a long finish punctuated with ripe fruit. Enjoy this Pinot Noir with Peking Duck or grilled flank steak with chimichurri and firm nutty cheeses like aged gruyere .
