Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste 750ml - 13145
Detail
Grand Puy Lacoste has been planted since the 1500’s, and rose to prominence in the 1930’s under the ownership of the Dupin family, and most recently under the Borie family who has recently renovated the estate from top to bottom. Emeline seems to be poised to take over the estate from her father Francois-Xavier as she’s taken a larger and larger role in its management. The fifty five hectares of vines are in two gravelly hills in Paulliac, and planted to a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot and Cabernet Franc making up the balance, and aside from the addition of Cabernet Franc, the vineyards are unchanged since the 1855 classification. The wines are fermented by parcel in stainless steel tank, as is malo, and the wines are finished in seventy percent new french oak barriques for sixteen to eighteen months. Enjoy alongside roasted or braised red meats or with firm, aged cheeses .
