Being here in St. Helena gives us exclusive access to some pretty fine little Cabernet Sauvignon gems that dont make it into nationwide distribution. Clark-Claudons gorgeous 2018 Estate Cabernet is a prime example. We have long been fans of Clark-Claudon for its exceptionally soft, drinkable style and its black cherry perfume to spare. One of the feathers in proprietor Tom Clarks cap is that he planted El Retiro Ranch, which you now know as Screaming Eagle. Between Toms vine-tending expertise since 1974 and Jean Hoefligers Swiss-precision winemaking, its no wonder this wine is so perfectly ripe and flavorsome. We love this Cabernets brightness and grace on the palate combined with its exquisitely fruity, full-bodied richness. Its built to age 10-15 years handily. If you love bold, structured Cabernet Sauvignon this would be a terrific addition to your cellar.
