Detail
Founded in 2005 by the Sebastiani Family, fourth generation Sonoma Winemakers, B Side wines are crafted from Californias most treasured growing regions. For the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, most of the blend is from Napa Valley, with a majority from the idyllic Pope and Gordon Valleys. These areas, with their diverse soils and higher elevations, produce Cabernet Sauvignon fruit with distinctive flavors and big, round tannins. The balance of the fruit comes from other North Coast regions including Sonomas iconic Alexander Valley and the rugged Mendocino County. This wine is aged for twelve months in predominately French oak barrels with a small portion in American oak. The toasty French oak frames the wine and the addition of the small amount of American oak gives a pleasing, subtle hint of coconut. The 2017 B Side Cabernet Sauvignon is a deeply concentrated and expressive wine with aromas of boysenberry, blackberry, mocha, crushed lavender and sweet oak. This full-bodied wine is lush with layers of dark fruit, jam, pepper spice and hints of Blackstrap molasses making it well structured and intensely flavored with soft tannins and a lengthy finish. Pair with bacon cheeseburgers, black olive pizza, or homemade lasagna. Pair with firm cows milk cheeses like Asiago or Colby.
