Detail
In 1957, around forty winegrowers grouped together to confront the economic difficulties of the era, pooling far more than mere financial concerns. At the time, Robert, Marcel, Yvon, Genevieve and the others, hailing from the same terroir, hewn from the same rock and sharing the same time-honored values, set up their cooperative at the top of the hill in Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg. This Bourgueil is produced from a selection of thirty year old vines selected based on flavor. Fermentation is at lower temperatures and the wine is aged for five months. This preserves fruit and balances the herbal qualities of the Cabernet Franc. Deep ruby color. The nose has aromas of ripe plum, blackcurrant, blackberry, and violet. Accentuated by hints of black pepper. Full-bodied on the palate with soft tannin, the wine is well balanced between freshness and roundness.
