Detail
Louis Jadot has been an iconic producer in Burgundy since the house was founded in the mid 1800s. They have continually sourced or purchased quality vineyards across the region and have brought the world access to the many expressions of Burgundy as a whole. The Louis Jadot Bourgogne Rouge Le Chapitre is one of the very few Village level wines that is allowed to display its name on the bottle. Le Chapitre is located in the village of Chenove in the Cotes de Nuits. A majority of the vines here were planted in 1953, giving incredible concentration and density to this Bourgogne rouge. The Pinot Noir is hand harvested and fermented in a mixture of large wooden tanks or stainless steel before being aged in eighteen months in one-third new French oak barrels. Rich aromas of ripe black and red cherry are accompanied by subtle toast and savory earth elements. The palate has firm but polished tannins and structure for longevity. Fresh acidity provide life and energy to the mineral and fruit core through its layered finish. Enjoy with grilled aji tuna or game terrine, and nutty alpine cheeses like gruyere .
