Profile
La Jara Estate
A family enterprise dating back to 1891, is now producing 100% Organic Sparkling Wines that must be the best kept secret in the Veneto, until now!

“La Jara” in local dialect is the name for “gravel”, the calcareous white stones that are the predominant influence in the La Jara vineyards. Deposited by the Piave River over centuries, these white stones accumulate heat during the day and slowly release it during the night, enhancing the freshness and aromatics of these unique wines.
This land belongs to the Marion family, owners of the farm La Jara since 1891. The great passion for the land and for its fruits has been handed down from generation to generation, and is now perpetuated by Massimo Marion and his brother Paolo, who have been running the Estate since 1999.
The unique geographical position, abundant sunlight, and temperate climate are the conditions that make the hillside slopes of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene particularly special. On these hills, in the immediate vicinity of the “Grave di Papadopoli”, is the La Jara Estate which has vineyards extending all the way to the banks of the Piave River.
Certified 100% Organic by ICEA (Institute for Ethics and Environmental Certification of Italy), the brothers have focused on introducing even more rigorous biodynamic techniques in the vineyards, and creating a winery facility that allows the most pure expression of what the vineyards produce.
It’s a pretty amazing story, and driven entirely by Massimo and Paulo’s own vision for La Jara. The wines respect the Prosecco traditions of the region, but have taken the wines to another level!!
